Cry Baby

Cry Baby
October 26, 2012

I feel like everyone around me is either getting married or is pregnant. I’ve been that bride-to-be and I am not taking away from that. So, maybe I am just bitter about the baby part. I am only twenty three, so I shouldn’t be rushing things at this point, but I do have baby fever. I have been with my husband for five years, four of which we have been married and he is thirty six. I have three younger brothers and a younger sister, so I am use to little kids. I would like to add that I am not an aunt either, which I am very happy about considering two of my brothers are incredibly immature, the other is only fifteen and my sister just so happens to be sixteen and not pregnant!

Why is it that there becomes a timer with women and having kids? And it seems to tick more and more louder when you get married. It isn’t like I am not capable of having a child, that I know of anyways. It is just that I am working full time at Target, a job I mostly loathe than love as well as going to school full time. Financially, we are not ready for a baby. I want to be done with school at least for a year, to give me and my husband some time together before even thinking about bringing a miniature Juliano into the mix. The other wrench in it all is my health. I am type one diabetic and need to ensure I am fully healthy to carry a baby.

So, again, why am I complaining? Well, it is because no matter which way I lay it out to you(or to me for that matter), the urge and want for a baby is still there. We have a two year old English Bulldog, who is still very much puppy, so he occupies my time in between. I also have a cousin who has two little boys, Nino- who is four and Gabe- who is one. I love spending time with them every chance I get.

I really guess there was no point for this, but I needed time to vent a little. So thank you for listening! Ha!

Til next time…

The Break Up

The Break Up

October 5, 2012

Calm down Glee fans! Yes, Rachel Barry & Finn Hudson are no longer Finchel. And yes, Blaine did cheat on Kurt, so they are also no more....but aren't you at all happy that Will and Emma (Wemma) are working through things, as of next week's episode, possibly?

I'm not going to lie. Glee is one of my favorite television shows and a guilty pleasure. I have the biggest girl crush on Lea Michele and I love how they have made her more of a woman this season than her frumpy school girl look. And yes, just like the Twihards out there who swoon over Bella and Edward, I too am a romantic and want Finchel to not take too long of a hiatus and get back together.

Isn't it strange how invested we get in these make believe relationships? Come on, don't even act like you were not the same way with Rachel Green and Ross Gellar?! I remember the "we were on a break" episode very vividly!! I wonder why it is we do invest time into relationships that are not even real. Is it because these fairytales are something we hope our relationships to be? Or is it just the pure entertainment of being able to relate to these relationships too?

I was in elementary school and junior high during Friends. Now that I am in my 20's, I feel I can relate and understand the storylines much more. And I am sure when I get to my 30's it will be the exact same way. Perspectives change as you grow older and its because of the life you experience. So, I find it fascinating that a junior high or high school kid gets overly protective of the characters they admire (or loathe) on television. But, I can definitely relate!

I am sure that I am not the only person out there who has a favorite TV couple. I mean there are so many classic couples to love too: The Cosby's, The Cunninghams, The Jeffersons....hey, even Homer and Marge Simpson! Television has progressed so much in the last 50 years...even in the last 20 (since I have been around). What is crazy is that as real as television is trying to be, they cannot help but ad the additional make believe crap to keep us a little more entertained!

Until next time!
